Over 200 TowBoatUS and Vessel Assist Captains in Attendance

JACKSONVILLE , FL, Feb. 21, 2008 -- Capt. Terry Hill of TowBoatUS Potomac Marine of Woodbridge, VA was awarded “Tower of the Year” honors at the 14 th Annual BoatUS Towing Services Conference. Over 200 TowBoatUS and Vessel Assist captains from the nation’s largest fleet of on-the-water towing service providers were in attendance.

“Capt. Hill has been a significant contributor to his community as well as the entire on-the-water towing industry,” said Jerry Cardarelli, vice president of BoatUS Towing Services. Hill chairs the Potomac River Rescue Association, comprised of local fire and rescue, state and federal agencies as well as towing companies, to provide coordinated land and water rescue to the citizens of District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. He is also chairman of C- PORT, the national trade group devoted to representing and improving the marine assistance towing industry by implementing professional standards.

“Terry is committed to our industry and sets the standard when it comes to providing professional marine assistance services,” said Cardarelli. “Many in the fleet look to him as a role model in how to grow a successful on-the-water towing company.”

Hill’s TowBoatUS Potomac Marine responded to over 1,000 requests for assistance for recreational boaters in 2007 and was also one of the first companies to join the TowBoatUS fleet 20 years ago.
