BoatUS Cooperating Marina Program Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary With 870 Marinas Nationwide
Boaters Get a Break on Gas, Transient Slips, & Repairs
The BoatUS Cooperating Marina program, which offers boaters discounts on fuel, transient slips and repairs, celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year with a record 870 marinas participating across the country.
“As the price of nearly everything is rising, this discount program has become very popular with recreational boaters,” said Cooperating Marina Program Director Jim Schofield, noting that the loyalty boaters have for BoatUS builds incremental sales marinas might not normally get.
The Cooperating Marina program requires marinas or boat yards to offer discounts to boaters carrying a BoatUS membership card. This can include up to 10 cents off per gallon of fuel, 25% off transient slips or 15% off repairs. “About 300 of our Cooperating Marinas offer some sort of fuel discount, which will certainly be popular this summer,” added Schofield. “The savings provided in one fill-up could easily pay for the annual $19 BoatUS membership dues.”
Marinas participating in the program are listed in the annual BoatUS Member Services Directory — sent to over 670,000 BoatU.S. members — and can have their own web page on the http://www.BoatUS.com/marinas Web site. Cooperative advertising dollars are also offered so marinas can take advantage of local advertising opportunities. On-site, point-of-sale signage and flags are also included.
Marinas interested in learning more about the program can call Schofield at 888-333-2628 or Email JSchofield@BoatUS.com. For BoatUS membership information visit http://www.BoatUS.com or call 800-395-2628.
