Lionheart's Concerto yacht interior with fancy wood trim and purple carpeting

The fusion of his love of music and design inspired owner Ken Sawyer's extraordinary new 42-foot motor yacht, Lionheart's Concerto, designed by Bob Perry. With an exterior styled after a 1920s Bugatti sports car, and an interior that pays homage to art deco and art nouveau, Lionheart's Concerto is one of a kind. But looks aside, the key feature of this boat is the electric Yamaha player piano nestled to starboard. "We modified the boat to the piano, more than the other way round," said J.B. Turner, one of the partners at Front Street Shipyard, where much of the finishing work was done. The boat's electrical system had to be up to the task of driving the piano's speakers whether on inverter or generator power. "We customized the legs and speaker coverings to make the piano look more like the interior as well," he added. Another special touch: the carbon fiber piano bench that weighs just a few pounds.
